Co-Founders and Managing Partners
Harborfields Co-Founders and Managing Partners Sam Kirschner and Tom O’Connor have been doing business and investing together since 1996. They formed Harborfields as their primary vehicle for investing in multifamily apartment communities. The Co-Founders are supported by a team of professionals who they have been working with for over twenty years in connection with their real estate investments in the United States and Latin America.
Samuel Kirschner
Sam is the founding partner of Park West Acquisitions LLC and a co-founding partner of Dawn Homes Realty Investors LLC through which Sam has done much of his multifamily investing since 2009. Sam is also a partner of CPG Real Estate LLC and a partner and President of CPG Island Servicing LLC. Sam’s multifamily portfolio includes more than twenty properties with over 5,000 units. Dawn Homes Realty, CPG and their affiliates are each fully integrated real estate investment and management platforms which seek to generate superior risk-adjusted returns through the acquisition, management, repositioning and financing of multifamily apartment communities, commercial real estate and distressed debt investments throughout the Northeast and Puerto Rico, respectively. Prior to founding Park West and Dawn Homes Realty, Sam held senior management positions at Hypo Real Estate Capital, GMAC Commercial Mortgage and Daiwa Securities. Earlier in his career, Sam practiced real estate law at Kaye Scholer and was a practicing CPA with Ernst & Young and The Equitable. Sam received his Bachelor of Science degree from SUNY Albany where he graduated cum laude and his law degree from Fordham University School of Law where he graduated cum laude and was an Associate Editor of the Law Review. Sam serves on the boards of several local charities.
Thomas O’Connor
Tom was recently a Partner at Adler & Stachenfeld LLP and Co-Chair of the firm’s Finance Department. A&S is a law firm in Manhattan that specializes in real estate. Tom has been practicing real estate law for more than thirty years and has represented institutional and non-institutional lenders and major owners and operators of commercial real estate. Tom has recently left A&S in order to become more active in building the Harborfields real estate platform. Tom is also an investor in commercial real estate and currently holds interests in approximately 2,800 multifamily units and owns and operates nine multifamily buildings in his portfolio. Prior to coming to A&S to chair its Finance Practice, Tom was a Partner at Cooley LLP and Chair of its Real Estate Department. Tom started his law career at Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP. Tom received his Bachelor of Science undergraduate degree from Clark University where he graduated with honors and his law degree from the Touro Law Center where he was valedictorian.
